ETI’s Statement on Green
“What’s the most effective way to eliminate the environmental impact of your event? Don’t host the event.”
At a recent vendor forum for one of our world class clients, the above question was posed. It may sound rudimentary at first glance, but it really got us thinking. The truth is, we can talk all we want about how we use recyclables, how we support vendors who run newer, less polluting vehicles, how we support vendors who use biodiesel and recycle used motor oil, but in the end, transportation is a major element of the carbon footprint created by an event.
At ETI, we find that the most effective way we can lessen an event’s impact on the environment is to always be looking for ways to use less vehicles, make less trips, and keep more engines in the off position. That’s why with any major event, our proposed transportation plan will have options available to you that will directly and significantly reduce the environmental impact of your event. Conveniently, these actions always result in a significant cost savings.
We acknowledge that sometimes making less trips and having less vehicles can be felt in the attendee experience, however, careful planning and communication from the start can minimize that impact and create an excellent attendee experience. In the end we’ve become a team with real environmental results.
